Di-ammonium phosphate (DAP) also known as Di-ammonium hydrogen phosphate is one of a series of water-soluble ammonium phosphate salts that can be produced when ammonia reacts with phosphoric acid until the desired PH is obtained. DAP produced gets settled down in the solution and then it is further centrifuged to obtain the crystalline powder of Di-ammonium phosphate.
Di-ammonium phosphate is used for fireproofing textiles, paper, wood and vegetable fibers.
Di-ammonium phosphate is also used in impregnating lamp wicks as well as preventing after glow in matches.
